Boğsak Arkeolojik Yüzey Araştırması'nın başladığı ve Boğsak Adası'na çıkılan ilk yıl olan 2010'da drone teknolojisi henüz gelişmemişti. Bu sebeple, Boğsak Adası'nın ilk hava fotoğrafları lojistiği pratik olmayan, süreci meşakkatli bir görüntüleme sistemi ile çekilmişti. Karada helyum ile doldurulan balona fotoğraf makinesi sabitlenmiş sonra da balon adaya kadar tekneye bağlı olarak götürülmüştü. Kontrolü ve navigasyonu da iki ayrı misina yardımıyla sağlanmıştı. Bazı fotoğraf dizilerini çekebilmek için hem adada hem de teknede aynı anda kontrolü sağlamak gerekmişti. Bugünse artık overlokçu ayağımıza geldi.

The first year of the Bogsak Archaeological Survey, and the year we set foot on Bogsak Island was 2010. Air photography was not as convenient as today. The first air photographs of Bogsak Island were taken via a blimp. This was logistically unpractical and the whole process was extra exhausting. After filling the blimp and fastening the camera, we brought the blimp to the island by boat. Navigation and control was ensured by a dual fishline system. For some areas, we needed to form two groups, whereby one group (actually one person) was on the island and the other was on the boat, guiding the BLIMP around the island. Today, the drones just come to our arms.

It is really hard to intervene in what is happening around us and in the world. However, we believe that the best thing we can do is to continue our work diligently on the path we believe is the righteous, while keeping an open mind.
